Fafau Reserve is a booking platform operated by Fafau Ventures. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our site, create an account, sign in, make a booking, or operate a venue on the platform. Venues also handle information about their own customers and may have their own privacy notices.
Information we collect
We collect the details needed to run your account and bookings, such as your name, email address, phone number if provided, account identifier, the venue and resource you select, booking dates and times, booking status, and payment transaction references you submit. Venue administrators may add business contact details, venue information, prices, and booking instructions. We also receive basic technical information needed to run and protect the service, such as device, browser, IP address, and authentication activity.
Google sign-in and other verification
If you choose Google sign-in, we receive the account information Google shares for authentication, which may include your name, email address, profile image, and a Google account identifier. We use it to create or access your Fafau Reserve account and do not use Google sign-in data for advertising. Email verification and, where enabled, phone verification by SMS or WhatsApp use the contact information you provide to send verification messages. WhatsApp is a delivery channel for a verification code or a way to contact a venue; it does not require access to your WhatsApp messages or contacts.
How we use information
- To authenticate users, maintain accounts, and respond to support requests.
- To show availability, take booking requests, prevent conflicting reservations, and keep a record of booking and payment status.
- To let the relevant venue manage its customers, bookings, payment checks, and reports.
- To maintain service security, investigate misuse, comply with legal obligations, and improve reliability.
Who can access it
The venue you book with and its authorised staff can access the booking details needed to provide the service, including your contact details, reservation, and submitted payment reference. Other venues do not receive your booking details for that venue. We use providers for hosting, authentication, database services, communications, and infrastructure; these providers process information to deliver their services to us. We may share information when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
Payments
Where a venue uses manual bank transfer, the venue provides payment instructions and checks payment itself. Fafau Reserve records the amount, booking status, and transaction reference you enter; entering a reference does not confirm that payment has arrived. Do not put card numbers, bank login credentials, or other sensitive payment information in a transaction reference or support message.
Storage, international processing and retention
Our service providers and venues may operate in different countries, so information may be stored or processed outside your country. We apply access controls and other reasonable safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. We keep information for as long as needed to operate accounts and bookings, meet legal and accounting duties, resolve disputes, and prevent abuse. We then delete or de-identify information when it is no longer required, subject to applicable obligations.
Your choices and requests
You may ask us to access or correct information we hold about you, request deletion of your account or information where applicable, or raise a privacy concern. A venue may need to handle requests about its own booking records, and some records must be kept for legal or dispute purposes. Contact us at hello@fafauventures.com; include enough detail for us to find the relevant account or booking. You can also contact the venue directly about its handling of your booking.
